Hi, I’m Dr. Brown-Stayer. Thank you for your interest in my practice.
My passion as a helping professional has its roots in childhood. I grew up in a family-oriented environment, where heartfelt connections, kindness, and support were highly valued. This cultivated my desire to help others later in life. After working for non-profit organizations with a focus on crisis intervention and social justice, my propensity to engage people on a deeper emotional and spiritual level led me to the field of clinical psychology.
I graduated from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, then went on to earn a Master of Arts and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco, with emphases in gender studies and multicultural competence. Since 1999, I have provided psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and children, as well as to couples and families, in settings ranging from schools and universities, to community clinics and medical establishments.
My current practice focuses on adults, adolescents, and couples.
